water baptism by full immersion represents the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. going under the water symbolises our old life and self. coming out of the water symbolises the new life we have in Christ, marking that we are new creations and made new by the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus. at sunday we don’t believe in infant baptisms because we know that water baptism is a public declaration of one’s faith that needs to be a personal decision and not a decision made on somebody else’s behalf.
getting water baptised is for all believers. if you have made the decision to become a christian and follow Jesus then you are ready to get water baptised. you don’t have to wait until you are perfect or when everything in life is going well, if that were the case no-one would be baptised.
Matthew 28:19-20: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'
